Objective
In order to succeed within the new regulatory framework of the UK nuclear market, the client recognised the need to effectively apply the knowledge and experience of its people to winning and delivering nuclear decommissioning projects. As a result Knowledge Management is seen as a key priority.
Approach
Perago applied the experience of implementing KM in the UK utility sector to ensure the project had clear objectives, together with a framework and the suitable tools that would support KM and deliver benefit. We provided facilitation and support within the project team and to staff in the business. Our ability to understand and deliver both strategic and tactical support to KM has resulted in our ongoing involvement from the project definition and planning stages, through to the facilitation of learning events, business workshops and the provision of training.
Results
The KM framework for the business is now clearly articulated and understood. Initial applications of KM tools have met with success and have identified tangible opportunities to deliver benefits, from developing and winning new business through to delivering projects. Awareness of KM is high throughout the business, and feedback from training courses has been positive.
